Spider 4 Suits

How to Play Spider Solitaire 4 Suits

Spider Solitaire 4 Suits is the hardest Spider variant, using two full standard decks (104 cards) with all four suits — spades, hearts, diamonds, and clubs. The rules are identical to other Spider variants: build descending sequences on 10 tableau columns, move only same-suit sequences as groups, and remove complete same-suit K-to-A runs. With four different suits in play, creating complete same-suit sequences becomes extremely challenging. The win rate for 4-suit Spider is estimated at only 1-2% for most players, making it one of the most difficult solitaire games in existence.

Spider 4 Suits Tips

  • Accept that most 4-suit games cannot be won — focus on learning and improving rather than winning every game.
  • Create empty columns as your top priority. Without them, 4-suit Spider is nearly impossible.
  • Use off-suit builds very sparingly — every mixed sequence is a liability that must be untangled later.
  • Plan at least 5-10 moves ahead. One wrong move can make the game unwinnable.
  • When choosing between suits to build, prefer the one where more cards are already visible in the tableau.
